Alexander Adames

Alexander Adames serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology within the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan. He is additionally affiliated with The Stone Center for Inequality Dynamics as a Faculty Associate.

Adames is a sociologist and social demographer whose primary research investigates economic stratification in the United States. His work explores the determinants of wealth, income, and labor market outcomes across the life course and between generations. He also conducts research on romantic desirability within online dating platforms.

During his doctoral studies, he was awarded the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) Pre-doctoral fellowship.
