Dr. Alex Wermer-Colan is the Academic and Research Director of Temple University Libraries’ Loretta C. Duckworth Scholars Studio and Graduate Adjunct Faculty at Temple University. He teaches the Cultural Analytics Graduate Certificate Practicum course each semester. With a Ph.D. in English (critical theory, digital humanities, and comparative literature) from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, Alex focuses on computational approaches to cultural analytics and new media arts.

Alex leads project development, class visits, consultations, and workshops at the Scholars Studio. His creative and critical writing has appeared in publications such as The Los Angeles Review of Books, New Directions, Harpers, PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art, and The Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy. Research areas include digital humanities, cultural analytics, and computational methods.
