Dr. Alex Surtees is Lecturer in Forensic Science at the University of Bradford's School of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences. His research applies Raman spectroscopy to art authentication and cultural heritage analysis, including work on Constable, Rafael, and Rubens paintings. As ESA ExoMars mission scientist, he develops spectroscopic databases for planetary exploration.

He leads the BSc Forensic Science programme and manages commercial analytical projects through the university's Analytical Centre.
