Alex Mueller

Alex Mueller serves as a CTIC Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. A 2021 graduate of Penn Law, he previously held the role of research and publication editor for the Journal of Law and Innovation, contributing to scholarly discourse at the nexus of law and technological advancement.

Research Interests: Mueller's scholarly work centers on Technology Law, with deep expertise in Privacy Law and Cybersecurity Law. His research examines data protection frameworks, the enforceability of contractual limitations in IT services, and regulatory compliance for cloud service disclosures in securities filings. This focus stems from his practical experience in privacy consulting and his editorial work on foundational privacy law materials.

Professional Experience: Prior to law school, Mueller worked as a cybersecurity and privacy advisory associate, where he evaluated data protection programs and designed post-breach remediation plans. At Penn Law, he assisted Professor Anita Allen in updating the "Privacy Law and Society" casebook and completed a summer associate position at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, conducting research on multi-state contract enforceability and SEC disclosure requirements.
