Alex Maritz

Alex Maritz is Professor of Entrepreneurship at La Trobe Business School with research focusing on entrepreneurship ecosystems and education. His work spans:

• Senior entrepreneurship and mature-aged business creation
• Indigenous business development and economic empowerment
• Entrepreneurship education pedagogy and curriculum design
• Corporate innovation and startup ecosystems

Professor Maritz has published over 200 scholarly articles and secured $4 million in research funding. His industry experience includes executive roles at Sony PlayStation and Blockbuster Entertainment before transitioning to academia.

Honors include:

• ALTC Citation for Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education
• Finalist for USASBE Entrepreneurship Education Award
• Research Excellence Award from La Trobe Business School

He currently serves as Vice-President of the International Association of Organizational Innovation and holds visiting professorships internationally.
