Alex Lyon

Alex Lyon is a Professor of Communication at SUNY Brockport since 2007. He holds a PhD in Communication (2003) from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with specializations in Organizational Communication. His research focuses on the intersection of power, ethics, and communication in workplace environments, resulting in published journal articles, book chapters, and his 2016 book Case Studies in Courageous Communication. A dedicated educator, Lyon received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (2016), emphasizing his commitment to teaching over 17 years. He also serves as Coordinator of Graduate Studies.
