Dr. Alex Koch (PhD, CSCS, USAW National Coach) serves as Professor of Exercise Science at Lenoir-Rhyne University. He holds dual professional credentials as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and USA Weightlifting National Coach.
His research and professional focus centers on Strength and Conditioning, Weightlifting, and Powerlifting, with emphasis on elite athlete development. Since founding Lenoir-Rhyne's competitive weightlifting and powerlifting program in 2020, his athletes have consistently earned medals at University National Championships.
Notable coaching achievements include developing a two-time World Team member for USA Weightlifting. His applied research bridges academic exercise science with competitive power sports training methodologies.
