Alex Ingersoll

Alex Ingersoll is an Associate Professor in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. His research focuses on media archaeology, locative media, and the sociocultural implications of spatial representation through technology.

Ingersoll explores the intersection of digital technologies and physical urban space, analyzing how locative media commodify mobility patterns and produce 'desire lines' for tourism and urban planning. His work bridges critical theory, media archaeology, and experimental filmmaking.

His research has been recognized with the Silver Award for experimental filmmaking at the 2019 University Film and Video Association Conference. He has presented at festivals including Antimatter Media Arts Festival, Athens Digital Arts Festival, and Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival.
