Alex Gorelick is a Postdoctoral Scholar affiliated with the Getz Lab at the Broad Institute and the laboratory of Dr. Kamila Naxerova at Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School). He received his PhD in Computational Biology and Medicine from Cornell University, where he studied cancer genomics under Dr. Barry Taylor. His research focuses on applying phylogenetic and statistical methods to analyze cancer genomes, aiming to uncover the molecular mechanisms driving cancer evolution and metastasis.
Alex is an avid user of the R programming language and the vim text editor, integrating them into an unconventional workflow. Outside of his academic work, he enjoys biking, experimenting with his 3D printer, and spending time with his wife and cat.
