He holds a PhD in higher-dimensional category theory from the University of Sheffield (2012-2016) and has extensive teaching experience across mathematics, computer science, cyber security, engineering, and economics. His current focus includes discrete mathematics for computer science and cryptography for cyber security students.
Education:
- MMath, University of Sheffield (2012)
- PhD in Category Theory, University of Sheffield (2016)
- PGCert LTHE FHEA (Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education)
Research Interests:
- Low-dimensional higher category theory, operads, and monoidal categories
- Mathematics education with a focus on inclusive teaching practices and learner identity
- Applications of category theory to abstract algebraic structures
Recent Work Trends: Recent publications (2024–2025) emphasize advancements in higher category theory (e.g., weak vertical composition, Eckmann–Hilton arguments) and pedagogical innovations in remote learning and inclusive education. Collaborations with institutions like the University of Manchester and international conferences highlight his global academic engagement.
Labs/Teams: Involved in interdisciplinary teaching teams for BSc programs in Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Mathematics. Co-developed modules like 'Game Theory and Recreational Mathematics' to enhance problem-solving skills.
