Dr Alex Burchmore is a Lecturer in Art History and Curatorial Studies at the Australian National University's Centre for Art History and Art Theory (School of Art & Design). He specializes in Chinese art history, contemporary art practices, and transcultural object biographies. His research bridges historical and contemporary perspectives, focusing on porcelain's role in cultural identity formation and global trade dynamics.
Education: BVisArts (Hons) from South Australian School of Art (2011), MA in Art History and Curatorial Studies from University of Adelaide (2013), PhD from ANU (2019). Recipient of Prime Minister's Australia Asia Postgraduate Endeavour Award (2014).
