Alessia Tranchese

Alessia Tranchese is a Senior Lecturer in Communication and Applied Linguistics at the University of Portsmouth, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and the School of Education, Languages and Linguistics. She contributes to the Centre for Cybercrime and Economic Crime and the Centre for European & International Studies Research.

Her work employs corpus linguistics and natural language processing to detect online misogyny, linking digital discourse to real-world gender-based violence.

PhD Supervision includes research on violence against women, media and language, pornography, and online misogyny.
