About
Alessia Colombo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Milan (SSD CHIM/03). She holds a PhD in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Milan (2008) and has collaborated extensively with Prof. D. Roberto since 2008, initially as an INSTM and University of Milan fellow. Her roles include researcher (RTD-A/RTD-B from 2016–2021) before her current position.
Education: BSc in Chemistry (2003, 110/110 cum laude), University of Milan; PhD in Industrial Chemistry (2008). Early career included industrial roles at Miat Spa and Sanofi-Aventis under Prof. B. Danieli (2004–2005).
Research focuses on organic chemistry, synthesis of chiral synthons, and molecular materials for photonics/electronics. Notable contributions include studies on inorganic complexes for optoelectronic applications (luminescence, nonlinear optics, solar cells). Awarded the Nasini Prize (2019) for this work. Author of 3 patents and 115 international journal publications.
Collaborations and leadership: Works closely with Prof. Dominique Roberto and manages the Department of Chemistry’s website.
