Alessandro Imperato

Alessandro Imperato is a Professor of Motion Media Design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), serving since 2003. He concurrently holds roles as Graduate Coordinator for Motion Media (2012–present) and has prior experience at institutions including Savannah College of Art and Design, Middlesex University, and Keele University. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Visual Arts (Keele University), M.A. in Art History (University of Leeds), and B.A. in Fine Art (Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education).

Imperato’s research focuses on live media performance, digital art installations, and the intersection of technology with traditional art forms. Notable projects include Medeology TV (a live audio-visual performance series), The Odyssey: Redux, and Beowulf—all blending real-time digital media with theatrical performance. His work frequently explores socio-political themes, such as identity, conflict, and historical memory through multimedia installations.
