Alessandra TAFURO

Alessandra TAFURO is an Associate Professor of Business Economics at the Department of Economic Sciences, University of Salento, where she maintains her office at the Ecotekne Center Pal. C on the Lecce - Monteroni campus. She was appointed to her current position on May 3, 2024, following her National Scientific Qualification for second-tier university professor in Sector 13B1 Business Economics.

Her research interests focus on International Accounting Standards (IAS/IFRS) and Fair Value, Corporate social and environmental accounting, Cooperative companies, Sustainability, and Public-Private Partnerships. Her scholarly work bridges theoretical accounting frameworks with practical business applications, particularly in cooperative enterprises and sustainable business models.

Professor TAFURO has established herself as a significant contributor to business economics education through her diverse teaching portfolio across multiple degree programs at the university.

Her international experience includes being a Visiting Researcher at the Vernon K. Zimmerman Center for International Education and Research in Accounting at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (July-August 2010) and participating in the Erasmus+ Programme for Mobility for Teaching at the University of Valladolid (September 2017).
