About
Alessandra Sarti is a Professor and Deputy Scientific Director of INSMI at the University of Poitiers, affiliated with the Mathematics and Applications Laboratory (UMR 7348 of the CNRS). Her research focuses on complex algebraic geometry, particularly holomorphic symplectic manifolds, K3 surfaces, Enriques manifolds, and automorphisms. She earned her Laurea (DEA) from the University of Ferrara (1997), a PhD from the University of Erlangen (2001), and completed her Habilitation at the University of Mainz (2007).
Her work explores geometric structures, symmetry properties, and classification problems in algebraic varieties, with applications to mirror symmetry and elliptic fibrations. Recent publications emphasize K3 surfaces, automorphism groups, and derived geometric invariants, reflecting collaborations across Europe and Asia. She actively advises PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, contributing to projects like the ANR Positivity on K-trivial Varieties (POKO) and ANR Symmetries and moduli spaces in algebraic geometry and physics (SMAGP).
