Alessandra ROLLO

Alessandra ROLLO is a full-time University Researcher in Language and Translation – French Language (L-LIN/04) at the Department of Humanities, University of Salento. She holds a PhD in Literary, Philological, Linguistic and Glottodidactic Sciences and has been active in academia since 2006. Her research focuses on Cognitive Linguistics, Translation Theory, and specialized translation (economic/audiovisual), with a recent interest in Francoophone literature.

• PhD in Literary, Philological, Linguistic and Glottodidactic Sciences (University of Salento, 2005)
• DEA in Language Sciences (University Stendhal, Grenoble)

Research Interests: Her work integrates cognitive linguistics with translation studies, exploring conceptual metaphors, audiovisual subtitling, and the linguistic analysis of comics. She has published monographs on cognitive linguistics and translation strategies in Asterix comics.

Teaching: She teaches French language and translation courses across undergraduate and graduate programs, including Modern Languages, Technical-Scientific Translation, and Intercultural Mediation. Recent courses include Language and Translation – French I/III and French-Italian Subtitling Workshops.

Professional Roles: Member of research groups Do.Ri.F. (Communication and Translation) and editorial boards of academic journals. She contributes to PhD programs in Languages, Literatures, and Cultural Studies.

Labs/Teams: Involved in subtitling projects (e.g., 'Lectŭrĭo+' international intercomprehension initiative) and coordinates teaching committees for curriculum and exam optimization at the Department of Humanities.
