Alessandra Cenci is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sustainability and Planning within the Technical Faculty of IT and Design at Aalborg University. She holds dual PhDs: one in Philosophy from the University of Southern Denmark (2022) focusing on values and knowledge in public health, and another in Social Science from Roskilde University (2015) addressing migration and social justice in European labor markets. She also earned an MA in Logic and Philosophy of Science from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2010).
Her research integrates philosophy, social epistemology, and empirical social sciences to address how science and technology should be developed ethically and inclusively. Key areas include:
- Ethical design of AI systems for public welfare
- Citizen science frameworks for marine conservation (e.g., EU-funded OBAMA-NEXT project)
- Methodological rigor in health economics and multidimensional welfare measurement
