Aleksi Sahala

Aleksi Sahala is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Helsinki's Department of Digital Humanities, affiliated with the Language Technology Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires (ANEE). His work bridges computational linguistics and ancient language studies, focusing on Akkadian, Sumerian, and Egyptian scripts.

• Developing neural models for lemmatization and POS-tagging of ancient languages
• Analyzing phonotactic patterns in Sumerian
• Exploring semantic domains in Akkadian texts
• Digital humanities approaches to cuneiform corpora
