Aleksandra Sumorok

Aleksandra Sumorok serves as Assistant Professor at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź within the Faculty of Design Arts, Department of Theory and History of Art. She leads the Theory and History of Design Arts Studio, delivering lectures and practical instruction for undergraduate and graduate design students across multiple institutes.

Her research concentrates on historical and theoretical frameworks of design evolution from antiquity to contemporary practice, with specialized emphasis on textile design methodologies and applied arts mechanics. The studio uniquely examines socio-cultural mechanisms driving design creation beyond conventional historical surveys, supplemented by museum excursions and architectural design walks.

The studio operates as a core theoretical pillar within the Faculty of Design Arts curriculum, bridging academic scholarship with tangible design processes through its integrated lecture-practicum model.
