Aleksandra Benko is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomaterials and Composites, Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH University of Krakow. Her career spans academic roles since 2017, with expertise in designing multifunctional fibrous substrates for tissue engineering, biocompatibility testing, and commercialization of biomedical solutions.
- Education: PhD in Materials Engineering (2017), Master’s in Biomedical Engineering (2012), Engineer in Biomedical Engineering (2011) – all from AGH University of Krakow.
Her research focuses on leveraging physicochemical and electrical properties of nanofibrous materials to enhance biological performance. She leads cutting-edge projects like NCBiR LIDER/7/0020/L-11/19/NCBR/2020 on electrostimulation-driven stem cell differentiation into cardiomyocytes and NCN Sonatina 2017/24/C/ST8/00400 on carbon nanostructures. Her work intersects nanotechnology, biomaterials, and biomedical engineering, supported by international collaborations with institutions like Northeastern University and advanced laboratory training in GMP/GLP standards.
