Dr. Aleksandr Pakhomov is an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow at Keele University's School of Life Sciences. He earned a Specialist Diploma in Vertebrate Zoology (2012) and a Ph.D. in Zoology (2016) from Lomonosov Moscow State University. His research focuses on orientation and navigation mechanisms in migratory animals including birds, bats, and butterflies. Since 2020, he leads the MagBBB research group studying magnetoreception.
Research interests include:
- Ecological and physiological basis of animal migration
- Magnetoreception in diverse migratory taxa
- Design of experimental setups for navigation behavior studies
