Aleksandr Andreev is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo (Faculty of Theology) with a PhD in Theology from St. Petersburg State University (2019). His dissertation, The Reform of the Hirmologion in Moscow in the 17th Century, focuses on liturgical manuscript revisions. He teaches Church Slavonic, Greek Paleography, and History of Russian Worship at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, and Liturgics at the Pastoral School of the Diocese of Chicago and the Synodal School of Liturgical Music in Jordanville, New York.

A dedicated scholar of Byzantine-Slavonic textual traditions, he combines historical, linguistic, and ritual analysis to explore Orthodox liturgical evolution.
