Alejandra Ojeda-Beck

Alejandra Ojeda-Beck is a Clinical Professor in the School Psychology Program at the University of California, Berkeley School of Education. She teaches foundational courses in early childhood development, school-based psychological assessment, and provides clinical supervision for practicum experiences. Her roles include serving as Faculty Chair for key program committees, including the All-Program Committee, Social Engagement Committee, and currently the Conference Committee. She holds licensures as a Licensed Psychologist (California), Licensed Educational Psychologist, and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Additionally, she serves part-time as a School Psychologist for the Piedmont Unified School District and contributes to the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Leadership Team's Bilingual Interest Group.

Dr. Ojeda-Beck earned her PhD in Education (School Psychology) from UC Berkeley and a Master’s in Peace and Justice Studies, focusing on microlending in displaced communities. Her research emphasizes using graphic novels to enhance academic vocabulary, reading comprehension, and engagement in monolingual and bilingual high school students. She has been recognized with the 2016 AERA Minority Dissertation Fellowship for this work.

Her professional leadership spans institutional and national levels, with ongoing contributions to bilingual education advocacy and program development. Her interdisciplinary background bridges educational psychology, social justice, and applied research in K-12 settings.
