About
Aled Williams is a Lecturer in Product Design at Bangor University's School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. He holds a bachelor's degree in Product Design from Bristol Polytechnic and has extensive industry experience as a freelance designer, entrepreneur, and educator. His professional journey includes founding manufacturing companies, developing award-winning commercial products, and leading web development teams.
After completing his PGCE, he taught Design & Technology and served as Head of ICT at Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni. In 2006, he established his first manufacturing company on Anglesey, later expanding operations across Poland, Finland, Thailand, Portugal, and the UK. His designs are globally recognized for innovation and quality.
At Bangor University since 2013, he teaches commercial design principles, prototyping, CAD, FEA, and professional studies. He advises local businesses through university consultancy and won the 2016 Bangor University 'Teacher of the Year' award. His work bridges academic design education with industry实践.
