Aldo Scrofani

Aldo Scrofani is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, where he teaches The Business of Broadway and leads the Strategic Steps for Growth program in collaboration with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment. He is also the Chief Operating Officer of the Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc., overseeing operations of the iconic Apollo Theater.

His research and professional interests center on the business and management of live entertainment, particularly Broadway and touring productions. With over four decades of experience, he has been a key figure in shaping the modern theatrical landscape through executive leadership at Jujamcyn Theatres, Columbia Artists Theatricals, and his own company, Theatre Management Associates, Inc. His work bridges the gap between artistic production and strategic business development in the arts.

Mr. Scrofani has been recognized with numerous honors, including multiple Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards, Obie Awards, the Elliot Norton Award, and the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award from Montclair State University. He is a lifetime member of The Broadway League and has served on the Tony Management and Administration Committees for 15 years, remaining an active Tony Voter.

He has advised and instructed emerging professionals through NYU and NYC’s small business development programs, contributing to the growth of creative entrepreneurs. As the instructor of the Strategic Steps for Growth program, he collaborates with the NYC Department of Small Business Services to expand alumni engagement and support small business development in the city’s media and entertainment sectors.

Throughout his career, Mr. Scrofani has produced or been associated with over 100 major theatrical productions, including STOMP, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Elaine Stritch: At Liberty, Into the Woods, Carousel, and Dracula, working with legendary directors such as Hal Prince, George C. Wolfe, and Nicholas Hytner.
