About
Alberto Bianco serves as a Research Director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) working within the Immunology, Immunopathology and Therapeutic Chemistry Unit at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMC) in Strasbourg. He leads an associated research team at the Institute of Supramolecular Science and Engineering (ISIS), a joint research unit (UMR 7006) of the University of Strasbourg and CNRS.
Dr. Bianco's research program focuses on the critical interface between chemistry and biology, with particular emphasis on developing biomedical applications using multifunctional carbon-based nanomaterials and 2D nanomaterials. His work bridges immunology, immunopathology, and therapeutic chemistry to create novel nanomaterial-based approaches for medical applications and treatments.
Among his significant recognitions, Dr. Bianco was awarded the prestigious CNRS Silver Medal in 2019, one of France's highest scientific distinctions honoring exceptional research contributions.
His laboratory team currently includes PhD student Oceane Seivert, post-doctoral researcher Melanie Romain, and intern Yue Ma, all collaborating on therapeutic applications of carbon and 2D nanomaterials within the ISIS research facility.
