Alberto Bezama

Prof. Dr. Alberto Bezama is a Professor of Bioeconomy Systems Analysis at the University of Rostock's Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and leads the Department of Bioenergy at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ). His research focuses on sustainability science, circular economy, and life cycle assessment (LCA), emphasizing systemic approaches for bioeconomic transitions. He has held leadership roles, including Head of the "System Analysis of the Bioeconomy" working group since 2015 and Deputy Head of Department at UFZ. His work integrates interdisciplinary methods to address environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainable development.
