Albert Leung is Professor and Foundation Head of the School of Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI), leading the development of Ireland's first community-based Bachelor of Dental Surgery program. He holds dental qualifications from Dundee University, legal education from Cardiff University, and a PhD from Portsmouth University, complemented by fellowships from RCSI and the Royal Colleges of England and Glasgow.
His research focuses on:
- Innovations in dental education pedagogy and assessment
- Integrated restorative approaches to patient care
- Development of feedback systems for teaching enhancement
Professor Leung received the Excellence in Dental Education Mature Career Award from ADEE in 2017. His international leadership includes roles as Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at RCSI and academic positions at UCL Eastman Dental Institute, where he supervised over 100 Master's dissertations. Current editorial responsibilities include the Jordan Journal of Dentistry and the Dental Schools' Council of Great Britain and Ireland.
