Prof. Dr. Albert Dietl holds a professorship in Art History (Visual Arts of the Middle Ages) at the University of Regensburg since 2007. He specializes in medieval art across Italy and Central Europe, focusing on painting, sculpture, self-representation of artists, epigraphy, and urban planning. His academic journey includes studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and University of Vienna, a Max Planck Scholarship in Rome, and habilitation in 2004 with a study on medieval artist inscriptions.
