About
Alban Janson is a Professor (Ordinarius) of Architecture and former Head of the Institute for Fundamentals of Design at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). He served as Dean of the Department of Architecture from 2004 to 2008. His academic career includes professorships at Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences and the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT). He has also been a freelance architect since 1989, collaborating with Sophie Wolfrum in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, and Munich.

- 1968–1973: Studied architecture at the TH Darmstadt and University of Karlsruhe (TH).
- 1973: Diploma in Architecture under Prof. Ottokar Uhl.
- 1981–1984: Studied free art at the Städelschule in Frankfurt/M., focusing on painting, graphics, sculpture, and film.
