Dr. Alaq Al-Abayechi serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She earned her MBBS (Highest Honors) from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine in 2017, followed by an Internal Medicine residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2024. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, her research focuses on hematology/oncology disparities, veterans’ health outcomes, and rare disease diagnostics. She volunteers with The Pride Community Clinic and American Red Cross, and has received awards including the 2023 Most Compassionate Resident Award and 2023 Lawrence Endowment Award for Excellence in Research.
