Alan Wan is a PhD scholar in the School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences at The University of Queensland, supervised by Dr. Shaun O’Leary (Primary Advisor) and Professors Michele Sterling and Michael Sullivan (Associate Advisors). His research focuses on understanding mechanisms of movement-evoked pain in musculoskeletal spinal pain conditions. He holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (First Class Honours) from UQ and maintains clinical practice in private physiotherapy practices in New Farm and Newstead, Brisbane.
Education: B.Phty (Hons) from The University of Queensland.
Research interests center on musculoskeletal pain, spinal pain management, and the biomechanical aspects of rehabilitation exercises. His work explores how nonlinear mechanics and therapeutic interventions affect pain summation and recovery. Recent publications emphasize reliability of musculoskeletal assessments and patient perceptions of exercise complexity.
