Alan Tully

Alan Tully is a Professor holding the Eugene C. Barker Centennial Professorship in American History at the University of Texas at Austin, College of Liberal Arts. He earned his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1973. His research focuses exclusively on Early American History, examining colonial-era developments between 1565 and 1815.

He teaches core undergraduate courses including:

• HIS 317L: Colonial America (Fall 2021, Fall 2020)
• HIS 317L: Est America, 1565-1815 (Fall 2021, Fall 2020)

Both courses were conducted synchronously, with in-person and online formats during the pandemic years.
