Alan Serrano-Rico

Dr Alan Serrano-Rico is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Brunel University London. He serves as Department Industry Lead, Chair of the Industry Advisory Board, and Director of the Brunel Talent Marketplace – an initiative connecting academia with industry. Prior to joining Brunel, he worked in industry and public sectors in Mexico.

His research focuses on Information Systems and Organizational Strategy, particularly how businesses adopt ICT in complex environments. Current interests include social network phenomena, business process simulation, and knowledge dissemination to industry. He has collaborated with BMW, AXA Insurance, NHS, and Standard Chartered.

Recent publications show expertise in geospatial simulation, malware threat avoidance, and data quality metrics. Over 26 publications appear in journals like European Journal of Information Systems and International Journal of Information Management.
