Alan Nelson

Alan Nelson is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His primary research focus lies in early modern philosophy, and he has also taught courses on the history of analytic philosophy. Nelson has directed dissertations on diverse historical topics and is recognized for his teaching and mentoring excellence through campus-wide awards. Prior to joining UNC in 2006, he held teaching positions at UC Irvine, UCLA, and visiting roles at Stanford University, University of Pittsburgh, and University of Southern California.
