Prof Alan Lau is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Product Design at Swinburne University of Technology. Previously, he served as Pro Vice-Chancellor (International and Digital Research), overseeing global ranking initiatives, industrial partnerships, and digital research. He holds roles as an Independent Non-Executive Director at King’s Flair International (Holdings) Limited and Director at Oceania Cybersecurity Centre Company Limited and Stawell Underground Physics Company.
His expertise spans aviation, advanced materials manufacturing, and product design. He has been a World Class University Chair Professor at Chonbuk National University (2008) and International Vice President of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (2013–2019). He is a Fellow of multiple institutions, including the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Royal Aeronautical Society, and Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.
