Alan Hunt is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton. He holds a BSc in Physiology & Biochemistry (1979) and a PhD in lipid biochemistry (1987) from the same institution. His research focuses on lipid metabolism, coral reef biochemistry under climate change, and biomedical applications. He has established international collaborations in lipid metabolism and coral reef studies. Teaching roles include Deputy Year 2 Lead for BM5/BM6/BMEU programs and expertise in physiology, biochemistry, and research methodologies.
