Dr. Alan Hix is a Professor of Christian Studies at Shorter University since 2023, previously serving as Associate Professor (2008-2023) and Chair of the Department of Religion and Philosophy (2006-2010). With extensive experience across multiple institutions including Louisiana College (1998-2006) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (1992-2004), he combines academic leadership with practical ministry, having served as Pastor at multiple churches (1991-2011). His expertise bridges theological scholarship and archaeological fieldwork in the Middle East.
