Alan DeSantis

Alan DeSantis is Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Kentucky's College of Communication and Information. His research explores media representations and organizational communication, with particular attention to fraternity culture in popular film, health communication patterns, and social behavior in organizational contexts.

Research investigations include qualitative analysis of alcohol representation in college fraternity films, evolving trends in Greek life organizations, and gender differences in psychostimulant use among young adults. DeSantis also examines leadership frameworks in medical contexts and persuasive narrative techniques in organizational recruitment.

DeSantis maintains editorial responsibilities for the Journal of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and conducts research reviews for the United States National Institutes of Health and European Union Commission on Health Science and Ethics.
