Alain Riazuelo is a Research Fellow at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) since 2003, affiliated with the Paris Institute of Astrophysics (IAP). His research focuses on cosmology and astrophysics, particularly cosmic microwave background, primordial universe models, dark energy, and black hole visualization.
He completed his PhD at the Meudon Observatory under Nathalie Deruelle, defending his thesis "Signature of various models of the primordial Universe in the anisotropies of fossil radiation" at the University of Paris XI-Orsay in 2000. Riazuelo is known for his work on gravitational lensing effects around black holes, including creating educational visualizations like the "Journey around a black hole" project and a DVD on black holes in collaboration with journalist Sylvie Rouat.
