Alain Lesage

Alain Lesage is a full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal, affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry and Addictology. He specializes in mental health services evaluation, focusing on suicide prevention, residential care innovations, and epidemiological methodologies.

• Research Affiliations: Co-director of the Réseau québécois sur le suicide, les troubles de l'humeur et les troubles associés (RQSHA), member of the Réseau de recherche en santé des populations du Québec (RRSPQ), and affiliated with the Centre de recherche de l'Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal (CR-IUSMM).

Teaching & Supervision: Supervised 24 graduate students (14 Master's, 10 PhD) in topics spanning schizophrenia, suicide risk, addiction interventions, and mental health service organization. Key projects include workplace stress analysis (2010-2015) and cross-Canada mental health equity studies.

Research Grants: Participated in 13 major projects funded by Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS), addressing issues like aging workforce mental health, diabetes-depression comorbidity, and suicide prevention strategies.
