Alaa Alhaj Ismail

Dr. Alaa Alhaj Ismail is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Coventry University's Research Centre for Financial & Corporate Integrity. His research focuses on accounting regulations, capital markets, corporate governance, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Sustainable Cities & Communications and Reduced Inequality. He has co-supervised doctoral students in CSR and corporate governance topics.

• Education: PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Essex.

His research explores policy-relevant issues such as financial reporting, disclosure practices, and the impact of corporate governance reforms on capital markets. He examines topics like audit quality, executive compensation, and the economic consequences of accounting standards. Recent work includes studies on board dynamics, R&D investment drivers, and the predictive value of share-based compensation.
