Akira TAKADA is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies (ASAFAS) at Kyoto University. His research focuses on childhood in hunter-gatherer societies, particularly among the San (Bushman) of southern Africa, examining themes such as child-rearing practices, environmental knowledge transmission, ethnicity transformation, and ecological dynamics. He has conducted collaborative research on indigenous knowledge systems and cross-cultural interactions in African communities.
During his 2017 visit as a researcher at the French Foundation for Management Research (FFJ), he organized a conference series and participated in seminars exploring transcontinental research between Asia and Africa.
