Akila Rathnasinghe

Akila Rathnasinghe is a Lecturer in Construction Project Management at Northumbria University's Faculty of Engineering & Environment. He specializes in quantity surveying, digital innovation, and sustainable construction practices. His research focuses on modular housing, BIM implementation, and legal frameworks in construction projects. He holds a PhD in Built Environment (2024) and a BSc in Quantity Surveying (2019).

His research interests include digital technologies (BIM, blockchain), modular housing scalability, and sustainable construction solutions. He has published 37 peer-reviewed works, including 17 indexed articles, and received a Best Paper Award in 2020. He collaborates with industry stakeholders to address challenges in construction processes and contributes to interdisciplinary projects at Northumbria University.
