About
Dr. Akash V. Dixit serves as an experimental physicist and National Council Research Fellow within the Advanced Microwave Photonics group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, Colorado.
He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Chicago, where his doctoral research developed superconducting qubits as single photon counters for dark matter detection experiments.
His current work pioneers hybrid quantum platforms integrating superconducting qubits with optomechanical circuits, advancing capabilities in quantum computing and quantum sensing. Research spans critical subfields including quantum device fabrication, microwave photonics, cryogenic measurement techniques, quantum-limited amplification, quantum error correction, and quantum transduction.
Supported by a National Research Council fellowship, he operates within NIST's cutting-edge quantum research infrastructure. His experimental contributions target next-generation quantum information processing systems through the synergistic combination of superconducting and optomechanical technologies.
