Aizhan Anarkulova

Aizhan Anarkulova serves as Assistant Professor of Finance at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, joining the faculty in 2023 after completing her PhD at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management.

Her research program centers on empirical asset pricing and investments with critical implications for long-term investors, particularly retirement savers. Key investigations include long-horizon distributions of asset class returns, sustainable retirement withdrawal rates, and target date fund optimization. Her findings challenging conventional bond allocations for long-term portfolios gained significant media attention, including a featured Morning Star analysis on November 25, 2023 that concluded bonds add little value for ordinary long-term investors.

She currently teaches International Finance at Goizueta Business School, translating her research insights into classroom instruction.
