Prof. Dr. Aileen Edele is Professor for Empirical Teaching-Learning Research under Conditions of Migration-Related Heterogeneity at Humboldt University of Berlin, where she heads the Education and Integration Department and serves as Commissioner for Internationalization at the Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research (BIM). She holds a doctoral degree in Psychology from Freie Universität Berlin.
Her research examines multilingualism's impact on educational outcomes, discrimination in schools, cultural identity formation, and adaptation processes among refugee youth. She investigates how institutional structures affect psychological adaptation and educational success in diverse populations.
Prof. Edele's publications analyze educational trajectories of immigrant students, with recent work exploring organizational models for refugee integration and identity development in multicultural classrooms. Her research integrates educational psychology with migration studies to develop evidence-based interventions.
