Ahmet Alanay is a Professor at the Department of Surgical Sciences, Orthopedics and Traumatology, School of Medicine, Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine (1988) and completed residency at Hacettepe University in Orthopedics and Traumatology (1991-1996). After becoming a Professor in 2007, he served as a visiting professor at UCLA School of Medicine (2005-2006) and pioneered Vertebral Body Tethering surgery in Europe.

He treats over 2500 outpatients annually, performs ~200 operations, and publishes >20 peer-reviewed articles yearly. His work focuses on spinal deformities and pediatric/adult spinal disorders.
