Ahmad Javid

Dr. Ahmad Javid is a Part-Time Professorial Lecturer in International Affairs, teaching the Global Capstone program. He concurrently serves as a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council and Nonresident Scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC, focusing on counterterrorism, transregional militancy, and digital authoritarianism. He is also an Advisory Board Member at GardaWorld Federal Services, a U.S. government contractor specializing in security and risk management.

Prior roles include serving as Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the UAE (2020–2021), and a Fellow at the Modern War Institute at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he advised on insider threats and counterterrorism financing. He has collaborated with entities such as the Pentagon’s Afghanistan-Pakistan Hands program, U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, German Marshall Fund, and NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

His academic background includes a BA from Beloit College and an MA from Yale University. His writing has been featured in prestigious outlets like The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, and CNN, reflecting expertise in geopolitical strategy and security studies.
